“I don't get a lot of cravings and I wouldn't consider myself a huge "foodie" but being from Chicago, I do have high standards for hot dogs. That being said, I would pick a Swiss Hot Dog over a Chicago hot dog any day of the week. In fact, if I could eat a Swiss Hot Dog everyday I would be a very happy woman. I can not say enough praise - words are almost inadequate when describing the terrific sausages, the fresh bun (it's actually more like bread) and the wonderfully spicy secret seasoning (I think it has some curry and cumin). And to top it off, they also offer the world's best soup. (I tried to recreate it at home and failed miserably). Seriously, you gotta try this place. Even if you live in Denver (like I do) and you have to drive. It's that good.”

“LOVE IT! It's really more like a sausage... but better! Fresh ingredients, authentic atmosphere. The perfect ending to at day on the hill! Think you have an appetite? Try a 'triple'; three hot dogs in one! Great food and one of the most affordable meals in Vail.”

“Oh Swiss Hot Dog...how we love you. A visit to Vail is not complete without one of Ernst's Swiss Hot Dogs. I like mine with extra curry and extra mustard for a perfect balance of creamy and tangy. Mix that flavor sensation with the crunch of the sprouts and onions. Imagine all that goodness hugged inside a toasted French roll. YUM! If you're in Vail and can't get over to Avon, you can always visit the tent at the Vail Farmers Market on Sundays during the summer months!”

“Lean veal brats on a fresh roll with sprouts, mustard, onions and curry seasoning that Ernst will gladly tell you is "cheap cocaine." The regular, which is 2 brats, is really about perfect size wise. The chicken noodle soup is also surprisingly tasty, with fresh lime and cilantro and as Ernst will also tell you, will help prevent illness with the Vitamin C in its fresh vegetables. Believe it or not, this is a MUST eat at some point!”

“Two items on the menu, Swiss Hot Dogs and chicken noodle soup. The hot dogs are not the bland pink doggies most are accustomed to but a more flavorful dog, closer to bratwurst. Two dogs topped with mustard, onion, sprouts, and a dash of curry powder stuffed into a French roll and you have by far the best hot dog available in Colorado. The soup is standard chicken noodle until Ernst adds his 20 fresh raw ingredients elevating it to the best chicken noodle soup I've had to date. The owner is a character which only adds to the charm of this gem.”
